processor.
Tips & Gratuities
Our guides work
for tips in addition to a modest fee paid by Valley Creek. Gratuities
of 10% are customary in our business.
Firearms
No
loaded guns allowed inside the camp or vehicles! We may ask you or
even look at your rifle to check. Going to some stands,
it is fine to load your rifle and hunt on the way (we will let you
know). Do not attempt to climb a stand with a loaded weapon!

Hunting
All hunters are required to wear 144
square inches of orange (a hunter’s orange hat will do).
Stands consist of ladders, box stands,
and ground blinds.
If you take drink cans or other snacks
to the stand please bring them back to throw away.
If you wish to stay in woods and hunt
all day, this can be pre-arranged with your guide.
If you have to use the bathroom, walk a
safe distance from your stand the way you came.
Please do not field dress your deer.
If you shoot at a deer and think you
missed, please tell us so that we can follow up on the shot. Mark the
place where you last saw the deer with ribbon.
You can shoot coyotes, cur dogs, foxes,
and bobcats. It is probably better if you shoot these animals
because, if you see them, they have more than likely already messed up
your hunt, and if you do not shoot, they may mess up someone else’s
hunt.
You cannot shoot any
turkey(s).
Please let us know if you cannot or do
not want to walk long distances to your stand, also please tell us if
you do not necessarily like heights.
Please stay at your stands during the
entire hunt unless we instruct you to meet a guide at a certain
place.
Please do not wander around the area
because it is dangerous to you and to other hunters; this also
disturbs the area.
We have a shooting range and all
hunters will be required to shoot their guns to make sure they are
sighted in.
Please, if you have any questions at
all, ask one of the guides. The only bad question is the one you
don’t ask.
